| Media’s New Fight for Eyeballs, Profits, and Control Is growth in media real, or an illusion? New research from BCG, co-authored by Jupiter speaker Doug Shapiro, argues it’s the latter. Once you adjust for inflation and population, US media revenues grew less than 1% a year from 2018 to 2025, and total media time barely moved. The money is shifting even faster than the attention. Profits in the US video value chain fell 31% over the period, while social media captured the lion’s share of new media time. BCG also found that 56% of consumers prefer human-generated content, which suggests trusted, authentic and community-driven experiences are where value is heading. | Jupiter Festival Miami opened on Tuesday with registration and a Sunset Terrace Cocktail Hour, with happy hour sponsored by DropTV and a DJ set from DJ Mr Famous NYC. Gold and Platinum pass holders enjoyed a cocktail reception and dinner at UNFRAMED Hotel, and founder and CEO William Mellis was joined by Miami Beach Mayor Steve Meiner for the official welcome remarks. Third Eye Blind then closed the night with an intimate live performance. |
